The Flying PC Technicians
CSG in partnership with Fujitsu and the Northern Territory Government will be providing unprecedented levels of
support and access to ICT services in regional and remote areas of the
Northern Territory. This will be achieved through a
combination of scheduled, emergency break/fix and agency requested visits using aircraft carrying skilled service
technicians.
A comprehensive and regular preventative maintenance schedule has been
designed to provide remote sites with an upgraded level of support.
These sites will be serviced from either Darwin or Alice Springs as
shown in the illustration.
What You Can Expect
Remote sites will receive a scheduled visit from the Remote Community support
team.
While onsite the technicians will:
- Rectify any outstanding issues (as logged via the Service Desk or
advised by the RCS Supervisor).
- Provide advice and guidance in the use of the NTG Information Technology
environment.
- Assist other non-NTG organisations with their ICT requirements.
In addition, this partnership has extended the services of the
Flying PC Technicians to assist communities while conducting regular
maintenance calls for Northern Territory Government. The Remote
Community Support web site will provide a schedule of flights to
different locations where the community can request the Flying PC
Technicians' support to assist with most technical queries. For further
information refer to the conditions of service listed on this website.
We are confident that this approach will improve your IT experience
and look forward to receiving your feedback as to the effectiveness of
the service. This feedback can be provided to the Remote Community Support Supervisor.
